Cali Herzog – Executive Director

Cali is a long time member of the MCR family. She was involved with the school as a parent from 1998 – 2013.  Cali served the school as a Parent Volunteer and substitute teacher during her many years as an MCR parent. Cali earned her Bachelors Degree in Montessori Education from Xavier University and is currently working on her Masters Degree in Educational Administration. She lives in Bridgetown with her husband, Bob, and their four children.  The family has three rescued dogs – Junie, Otis and Daisy.  In her spare time, Cali enjoys volunteering, reading, and loves to travel any chance she gets!

Stephanie Burchett- Educational Coordinator

Stephanie is the Educational Coordinator of the preprimary program. Stephanie is a certified Montessori teacher, with a BFA degree from the Art Academy of Cincinnati. She has been teaching since 1994. Stephanie is an MCR alumni and returned to the school in 1996 to join the teaching staff. With a strong foundation in the Montessori philosophy and a love of art, Stephanie found her niche and began giving workshops at the Xavier University Montessori Teaching Training Program and The Greater Cincinnati Center for Montessori Education. Stephanie is a published author of the Art Curriculum for the Montessori Classroom, which is a required textbook for students in the Montessori teacher program at Xavier University.

Stephanie lives in Hyde Park, with her husband Scott and has two children, Beck and Henry, whom are also MCR alumni. In her time away from MCR, she enjoys running, yoga, visiting art exhibitions, camping and hiking. She believes whole-heartedly in the Montessori philosophy and is dedicated to always serving the needs of the child first.

Carol Woods – Educational Consultant

Carol has a BA. in English from University of Iowa and a M. Ed. in Education from Xavier University.  Her Montessori experience includes 3-6 Certification, Lead Teacher at Montessori Center Room and Educational Coordinator. Currently, she is a Consultant for MCR.

Carol is an Adjunct Professor at Xavier University, where she teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in the Montessori Program.  Carol has taught in Montessori Programs in Seoul, Korea and has presented at local and national Montessori conferences.  She has published over 20 articles in peer reviewed educational journals.

Carol is a Orton-Gillingham Fellow from The Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators. She is currently an Orton-Gillingham tutor.  She was the Director of Masonic Children’s Learning Center from 2006 to 2010, conducted Basic Level and Advanced Level courses, locally, and in Arizona and Wisconsin, and has presented at local and national dyslexia conferences.

Ann Lucas – Pre-primary Teacher

Ann Lucas has a Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and a Montessori certification from Xavier University. Ann began teaching over 20 years ago with MCR and in 2001 she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her husband, John. There she was the lead teacher at the Montessori School of Waukesha. Ann moved back to Cincinnati in 2010 and rejoined the MCR family.

Ann was born and raised in Cincinnati and lives in Fairfax with her husband, John, and stepchildren, Spencer and Harrison. Ann comes from a family of educators. Ann attended Summit Country Day where her father was the Head Master. Ann comes from a large family and has two older brothers, an older sister, and a younger sister. Ann enjoys reading, yoga, and volunteering with the Junior League.

Erin Lindemann – Pre-primary Teacher and Enrichment Activities Manager

Erin has a B.A. in English Literature from Northern Kentucky University, and a pre-primary teaching certificate from The Greater Cincinnati Center for Montessori Education.

Erin taught in the classroom at MCR for two years before moving to Oakland,
California. There, she taught at a small Montessori school in San Francisco for four years. Erin, her husband John, and their daughter Hazel, recently moved back to Northside and are restoring their early 1900’s home.

While Erin is not in the classroom, she enjoys taking Hazel exploring, camping, and interior design. The family also has a friendly Pit Bull
named Jillian, who misses the beaches of California.

Lynn Kramer Larmann – Classroom Teachers’ Aide

Lynn graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BA in Communication.  After graduation, she  worked in retail management until her children were born.  Lynn  was an avid volunteer at her children’s elementary school for 17 years.   Eventually, she began working part time in retail management again, running the proshop at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.  More recently, she became a Registered Yoga Teacher and currently teaches yoga.  Lynn is excited to also be a member of the MCR family and enjoys spending time in the classroom.  She has completed an 8-week workshop on Montessori philosophy and curriculum at GCCME and continues to attend American Montessori Society webinars.

Lynn was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She has two sons,  Max, a student at Miami University, and Jake who just graduated from St. Xavier High School.  Jake went to Montessori at Saint Ursula Villa for preschool and kindergarten and Lynn was in love with the philosophy immediately.  She and her husband, Eric, live in Hyde Park.  In her free time, she likes yoga, tennis, baking and traveling.

Megan Schneider – Classroom Teachers’ Aide

Megan has worked as a Montessori Assistant Teacher since 2012, when she fell in love with the philosophy and watching children thrive in the environment.  Megan has a passion for advocating the social and emotional well-being of children before they enter elementary school.
Megan was born and raised in Eastern Cincinnati and lives there with her husband, John, their son and her three chihuahuas.  She graduated from Walnut Hills High School, where her mother taught for twenty five years.
When not in the classroom, you can find Megan performing with local theatre companies, like The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati.  She also works as “Farmer Megan” at Sunrock Farm, where she leads children in activities that emphasize a love and respect for animals and a deep connection to the natural world.  Megan earned a master’s degree and bachelor’s degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey.

Brett Sweeney Hornberger – Pre-primary Teacher

Brett developed a passion for Montessori education when she was a child and attended a Montessori school in Cincinnati from ages 3-13.  Brett received her undergraduate degree in Montessori Education from Xavier University in 2013.  She taught as a Montessori preprimary teacher for several years in northern Kentucky.  Brett has also worked as an education intern and summer camp leader at the Cincinnati Nature Center.

Brett was born and raised in Cincinnati and she currently lives near Eden Park with her husband, David, their son, Rory, and their dog, Gatsby.  She enjoys teaching yoga classes, cooking plant-based meals and spending time in nature.

Meghan C. BurkeEnrichment Staff

Meghan is from Cincinnati and lives in Pleasant Ridge with her husband and their two children.  Meghan’s background is in Somatic Education which is where she was first exposed to the Montessori philosophy and fell in love with it!  Meghan has worked with children with special needs in a Montessori environment for several years.

Meghan’s interests include Yoga, cooking, traveling, hiking, camping and rock climbing.  She studied Spanish in South America during college.  Her passion lies in education and the enrichment of the whole person.

Donna Rubin – Enrichment Staff

Donna is a graduate from Point Park College in Pittsburgh,  specializing in Ballet Pointe, Jazz and Modern Dance.  She also graduated from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music.  She has extensive training and experience with/in dancing and acting as well as several years of experience as a preschool Teacher.  Donna is a Pones Dance Instructor and also instructs a weekly movement therapy class at the VA Hospital.  Donna is also passionate about yoga.  She teaches yoga and works with the 3 Legged Dog Yoga Collective.  Donna plays guitar, writes and sings vocals in the band, Fists of Love.
