Nicole Sherrill- Director
Nicole has been the Director at MCR for eight years. She is a graduate of Miami University with a BA in English and concentration in Sociology. Before coming to MCR, she worked at a traditional preschool program in Columbus, Ohio, running the privately-owned center and helping the owner open a third location. Through searching for a wonderful first school experience for her daughter, Chloe, Nicole became involved in working with children and school administration.

In her spare time, Nicole enjoys reading, wakeboarding, watching football, and attending Chloe’s soccer games. She has been a Girl Scout leader for five years and enjoys volunteering at Chloe’s school.

Stephanie Burchett- Educational Coordinator
Stephanie is the Educational Coordinator of the preprimary program. Stephanie is a certified Montessori teacher, with a BFA degree from the Art Academy of Cincinnati. She has been teaching since 1994. Stephanie is an MCR alumni and returned to the school in 1996 to join the teaching staff. With a strong foundation in the Montessori philosophy and a love of art, Stephanie found her niche and began giving workshops at the Xavier University Montessori Teaching Training Program and The Greater Cincinnati Center for Montessori Education. Stephanie is a published author of the Art Curriculum for the Montessori Classroom, which is a required textbook for students in the Montessori teacher program at Xavier University.

Stephanie lives in Hyde Park, with her husband Scott and has two children, Beck and Henry, whom are also MCR alumni. In her time away from MCR, she enjoys running, yoga, visiting art exhibitions, camping and hiking. She believes whole-heartedly in the Montessori philosophy and is dedicated to always serving the needs of the child first.

Marlo Parlin- Preprimary Teacher/Musikgarten Teacher
Marlo attended St. Joseph’s University and earned an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. She received her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Montessori Certification in 1999. She began teaching in 1992 but decided to take a break after having her first child in 2001. MCR enticed her to joined our staff in 2006.

Marlo lives in Anderson with her husband, Andrew, and sons, Jack and Theo. Theo is a Kindergarten student at MCR this year. Marlo enjoys hiking in Cincinnati parks and biking with her sons on the Terrace Park trail. She vacations in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and always makes sure she has a good book on her bedside table.

Katie Hayden- Preprimary Teacher/Enrichment Staff
Katie graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BA in Communications, a minor in Organizational Leadership, and a certificate in Public Relations. She is currently working on her Montessori certification at The Greater Cincinnati Center for Montessori Education. Katie also teaches ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, and hip hop at the Anderson Dance Academy in Anderson Township.

Katie grew up in northern Ohio in a town called Vermilion and loves the summertime, boating on Lake Erie, and visiting Kelley’s Island. She also enjoys outdoor activities, all types of sports, and playing with her dog, Marley.

Erin Lindemann- Preprimary Teacher/Enrichment Staff
Erin graduated from NKU with a degree in English Literature and Journalism. However, she had always wanted to work with children. She discovered the Montessori philosophy while writing a paper in college and began to research it. One thing led to another and today, Erin is attending the Greater Cincinnati Center for Montessori Education and will have her certification completed in May 2009. Her plan is to continue her education and receive a Masters degree in Montessori education.

Erin is originally from Batesville, Indiana and enjoys traveling, being with friends, cooking, doing anything outdoors and listening to music.

Liz Helton- Enrichment Coordinator
Liz graduated from Xavier University with a BA in Montessori Early Childhood Education in 2006. She has worked at MCR for  ten years. She has taken on the role of Enrichment Coordinator, as she just had her first child in September. Liz also has an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Geriatric Activity from Cincinnati State and a background in Occupational Therapy.

Liz grew up in Western Hills and she and her husband, Bruce, live in Foster, Kentucky.  Liz enjoys camping, hiking, reading and attending hockey games. (Bruce is a goalie.)
