Tuition Assistance

The purpose of the Montessori Center Room Tuition Assistance Program is to help parents in financial need to send their child(ren) to the school.  Special preference is given to children residing in the immediate neighborhood of the school.

Tuition assistance is in the form of reduced tuition payments.  Because the fund is limited, assistance will not cover the whole of any student’s tuition.  The family’s financial status and the school’s budget are taken into consideration when determining an amount of assistance.

Parents desiring tuition assistance should so indicate at the time they apply for their child(ren)’s admission to the school, or in the case of continuing students at the time the formally indicate their intent to return (which usually happens in January).  At that time the parents should complete the Tuition Assistance Program Financial Application.  The school administrator provides this form.

A Tuition Assistance Committee, composed of the Director and two Board members, will consider the applications for tuition assistance.  The Director gives each application a code; therefore other committee members do not know the identity of the applicant.  The Director will notify each applicant as to the TAP Committee’s decision.  Those families receiving aid will be told of the amount of their scholarship award.  The scholarship award will be for the upcoming academic year only.  Parents of continuing students will have to reapply each year.
