Parent Involvement

Montessori Center Room depends heavily on parent participation.  Parents are can be involved in a variety of ways.  All parents are required to attend two General Membership Meetings, Parent Education nights and conferences.  In addition, there are three parent committees:

-The Classroom Committee supports activities occurring in the classroom. Members of the committee will volunteer in the classroom, shop for and prepare daily snacks, collect and prepare materials, among other activities.

-The Events Committee manages the events calendar and school communications.  Members of the committee schedule and run school events and write the newsletter, among other activities.

- The Fundraising Committee determines annual fundraising goals and plans and runs fundraising events.
Prior to each school year, parents sign a Participation Contract indicating the committee they will join and the specific ways in which they will be involved during the upcoming year.  Parents are encouraged to share any special skills or interests that may benefit the children and the program.
